As you may be well aware the Alcoholic Drinks Control Act came into effect December 2010. The implementation of the act has proven to be unfriendly to our businesses. Efforts have been underway to introduce amendments to the Act through a private members bill –The Alcoholic Drinks Control Act amendment bill, albeit challenges.

 A stakeholder’s breakfast meeting was convened on 4^th December 2012 at Sarova Stanley to discuss and come up with a common position on the Act as an industry, which will help in lobbying for the amendments.

 We continue to lobby for the amendment of the Act and will remain unrelenting as the Act as it is continues to hurt our legitimate businesses.
