The Association was a guest at a forum aimed at realizing the formation of an Association for Hospitality, Travel and Tourism Educators in Kenya.
The forum was hosted by Moi University, but included stakeholders in the industry, including KTB and Ministry of Tourism. Also present were all major universities offering courses in tourism.
The Association is aimed at spearheading research in tourism as well as steamlining the education curriculum, not only at University level but also in the tertiary colleges.
The forum agreed on the name Kenya Association of Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Educators (KATTHE) and selected an interim Board to guide the registration process. KAHC is a member of the interim Board.
This Association will be very important especially in the wake of the formation of a new parastatal in tourism that will be in charge of Research-Tourism Research Institute.
