This year's UN World Tourism Day/Kenya Week was held from 24^th-27^th September 2012. The theme for this year’s event is “Tourism and Sustainable Energy –Powering sustainable development”

Several activities were lined up towards the theme, which included a visit to Dagoretti Biogas Plant and the Geothermal Power Generation Plant at Olkaria. A one day workshop was also held at the KICC on 26^th to sensitize the industry stakeholders on tourism and sustainable energy.
