1. Consultative meeting with Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife

Yesterday, the KAHC Board led by National Vice Chairman Wasike Wasike met with the CS Tourism & Wildlife Hon Dr. Alfred Mutua with his team comprising of PS Tourism John Olooltua and others. The team held very good discussions around key areas to increase tourism numbers as well as support for the industry.

The main issues revolved around increased air access into Kenyan airports, increased marketing funds for KTB, e-Visa issues, Kenya Utalii College, Government pending bills, beach traders and representation on parastatal boards.

2. Stakeholder engagement with KTB

Before the meeting with CS Tourism, KAHC CEO Mike Macharia was part of a stakeholders delegation that engaged with the top leadership of Kenya Tourism Board in discussions around KTB’s new strategic plan. Members gave valuable input that will enrich the draft document which was very well thought out. We will update you as soon the strategy is published.
