The secretariat attended a breakfast meeting with Mombasa County Governor held at Severin Sea Lodge. Milestones and programs being implemented by the county government were raised as follows:
· Having direct scheduled flights to Mombasa.
· Allocation of garbage trucks at Likoni area just as is the case with other places within the CBD.
· The progress being made to manage the hawkers within the CBD.
· County is working at opening up several service centers within the county in the six constituencies.
· The Governor will personally arrange for a meeting to engage the Kenya Ferry Services management to work out a program that will favour tourist, the suggestion from the industry was that we have a priority or express service at a cost.
· On KPLC, a motion is being filed in parliament so that KPLC can be compelled to compensate for every hour there’s a blackout.
· Beautification program is ongoing on Digo road, and is extended to Jomo Kenyatta down to airport and soon the public beach where which has now been given back to the county government.
· Regular engagements with County security agencies to share intelligence communicate and work out disaster management and other mitigation measures.
The Governor appealed for industry support in execution of the cultural events being facilitated by the County.
