The Association participated at the Kilifi Governor’s roundtable held at Mnarani Club. We were represented by the North Coast Regional Chairman - Mr. Harald Kampa, Vice Chairman - Mr. Vikram Korla and a member Mr. Changawa Mulewa. The event was organized by MCTA, with the aim of:-
o Enhancing dialogue and cooperation between the Private sector and the County Government in ensuring presence of inclusive, sustainable development agenda with social cohesion.
o Publish a County Agenda.
o Private Sector and Business Sector to meet and invest in Kilifi County.
Issues addressed to the Governor were:
· Lack of Beach management plan, and also the need to improve Airport standards.
· Expansion of Malindi Port
· All person should be involved in the management and protection of the beaches.
· Lack of a Police Unit and CID unit in Watamu, and the increased claims of child sex exploitation
· Lack of an investments policy
· Lack of defined waste collection and disposal unit and the lack of awareness on waste management issues.
· Lack of Ambulances.
· Lack of pedestrian sidewalks.
The Governor, Hon. Jaffa Kingi, promised to look at and address the concerns raised by the stakeholders.
