KUC NATIONAL COMPETITIONS
May, 2013

The 18th National Tourism Competition was held in the month of May at Utalii College, the Chief Guest at the event was Mr. Muriithi Ndegwa, the Managing Director of Kenya Tourist Board, who was represented by the Head of Finance, Mr. John Orumoi, also present was the Nominee for the position of Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government Mr. Joseph Ole Lenku.

The competitions attracted 139 competitors from across the country. National Tourist Competition is geared towards assisting the industry realise the 2 million tourists each year

Its through such competitions that professional skills, capacity and creativity of our colleagues in the industry are showcased and accords us an opportunity to keep the skills up-to date at the cutting edge.

There are the plans to scale up the competitions from the national to international through the Association of Hospitality and Tourism Schools to measure themselves against the very best from Africa and the world.

 

The Association was represented at the event by the Admin. Officer, and sponsored an award for the Best Spa Therapist.
