Value Chain upgrade for Mombasa county
March, 2014

KAHC was represented at a stakeholder workshop to finalise validation of prioritized value chain upgrading strategies. The workshop was a culmination of a series of activities undertaken earlier to map, analyze and draw upgrading strategies for the three prioritized value chains that are to be promoted in the County as initial steps towards commercializing agriculture in order to reduce poverty, enhance food security and create employment. These value chains are: -

·         Amaranthus leaves value chain

·         Indigenous Chicken value chain

·         Mixed Fish (capture) value chain

During the workshop the maps and upgrading strategies of the three priority value chains were presented for discussions in an effort to validate them for adoption and chart way forward.
